Sam is 4 Months Old!!

So I can't believe it but Sam is four months old!! WOW it's gone by fast. He went to the doctor on Friday, of course got shots but besides that everything is perfect. He weights 14 lbs 12 oz (50%), his length is 25 1/2 inches (75%) and head circumference is 16 inches (15-25%). So he is tall, perfectly average in weight and has a little head! Lucky for him he is a baby and still looks absolutely adorable!! HAHA. Maybe that's what he got from me, a small head!

So now that he is four months old here are a few things he is doing:
1. Sleeping through the night!! YAY!! we all feel a little more like normal people now!! :)
2. he smiles all day long and laughs. He mostly laughs for Jason although I have been able to get a few giggles here and there.
3. He is getting better at holding up his chest. He is still a little wobbly but is doing much better.
4. He is getting more tummy time now that he is not spitting up so much and he has been rolling over from his belly to his back.
5. Like I said in 4. he hardly spits up anymore! YAY again!!
6. He still loves to cuddle. I love putting him to sleep because he puts his face in my neck and cuddles! AHH! precious!! Lets not make this a habit though, soon he will have to go to bed awake! :(
7. He can now use the swing in the playset. Natalie loves this since now we can go out more.
8. He is finally on a schedue. YAY yet again!
9. He looks more like Jason every day.
10. He has gone from being a fussy baby to being an incredibly happy baby. Smiling and laughing and talking a ton!

Here are the pictures. I know I got a little carried away!

Photo Shoot

So I know this is pretty much the same post I made on Natalie's blog but I wanted to each have their own entry especially since this was Sam's first photo shoot. The photos we taken by Melissa Schantz when Sam as 6 weeks old, right before I went back to work. Sam did great. He had his diaper off for about 15 minutes and didn't pee on me, pretty much a miracle! These photos are so cute!! Thanks Melissa!!

Sam's First Sickness and Happy Mother's Day

These past two days I've been home with Sam. He has croup. We had to take him to the pediatric immediate care on Sunday (Mother's Day) because he was coughing and sounded awful. So, no day care for a few days and he has been taking some medicine to reduce the inflammation so he can breathe easier. Poor Baby!!

Sam's First Road Trip

I had to go to Denver for work and I was going to be gone for 7 days. I could not stand the idea of being away from Sam for that long when he was only 2 months old and I felt bad for Jason having to stay home with both Sam and Natalie for that long. So, I decided to drive and take Sam with me. Cynthia was done with school and she came with me to watch Sam during the day while I was working. It almost didn't work! She had a final that wednesday but luckily her professor let her take it early. So, we left on Saturday and drove to Blue Springs, MO. The next morning we drove to Denver for me to be able to start working Monday morning. Sam actually did great. We had a few moments that we got a little nervous. He threw up in the car on the first day. Luckily most of it was on his clothes and we were able to get him cleaned up pretty fast. The first night we almost ran into severe weather. It was about 100 miles west of us. There was an actual tornado off I-70 (which we were on) and people had to leave their cars and run to a ditch. When this happened we had just stopped for the night on the east side of Kansas City.

Sam did great and Cynthia did too. By the end of the week they were great friends! I worked all week and we left on Friday and drove about 10 hrs that night. Not sure if that was the best idea , it was pretty dark and we didn't get to the hotel until 3:15 am. I forgot we lost an hour in that direction! Sam woke up at 6:30 that morning and we started back to Louisville.

Jason thought I was crazy to do this but it made it a lot easier to be away. I thought the week went great. Thanks tia Cynthia for helping!!

Thank goodness for the little bugs. Sam watched and talked to them the whole time when he wasn't sleeping.

Monday morning in Denver we woke up to this. We had no idea it was supposed to snow. Luckily it was all gone by that afternoon and it was 70 degrees by Wednesday.
Getting ready to go down to the pool. We actually just sat in the hot tub. Sam sat in my lap and only had his butt and feet in the water. I was afraid it would be too hot for him. He loved it.
Driving back.

Talking to Friends

Sam has started talking to some old friends, bunny, star, little bugs, actually anyone who is close enough for him to see and has a smile on their face. Absolutely adorable.

Talking to the star which lights up and plays music. What's not to love!
